THE GLASSHOUSE EFFECT

We are so excited to have been selected as a first-time exhibitor at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024, the first indoor garden designed and built by women in prison or recently released.

Our exhibit, β€˜The Glasshouse Effect’ illustrates the benefits of horticultural training and employment for women at the end of their prison sentence. We plan to recreate the environment of the original glasshouse where the project began at HMP East Sutton Park. The exhibit will showcase the beautiful house plant specimens nurtured by women in prison along with items representing the dreams, and hopes of the women currently in custody and participating in The Glasshouse programme.

MAKING HISTORY

β€œBeing a part of The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is an incredible opportunity for The Glasshouse to share it’s story with people across the UK and help provide more support and impact to women at the end of their prison sentence”
