This little fern is robust, beautiful and functional, rated highly by NASA for its air purifying qualities. It is from the spleenwort family and its name is from the Greek ‘Asplenon’, which means spleen herb. In the Middle Ages, it was used as a healing drink against diseases of the spleen.

Bright yet indirect.
WATER
Water when top 3cm is dry to touch. Water around the sides not into the centre of the leaves. Ensure water drains, so roots don’t sit in water. Mist weekly.
TROUBLESHOOT
Yellow or scorched leaves leaves = too much light. Dark or hard spots on leaves = scale, scrape off and clean with soapy water.
