Day 2 - Introducing our amazing Horticulturalist - Emily!
Emily is a RHS qualified Horticulturalist. She loves to share her passion for growing and its restorative properties with the Glasshouse team and our clients. Having had a previous career in Youth Justice, she is familiar with the criminal justice system and the barriers facing those in custody.
Emily leads our team on our outdoor gardens and also manages the overall training for all our women in training who are currently working towards their NVQ in Horticulture.
Emily explains what has been going on today on the build site:
βDay 2 of the RHS Chelsea Flower show, and we are making some serious progress. Two van loads of plant deliveries, and we finally got to see our plant selections all in one place, and they are beautiful!
After endless moving of boxes, pots and HUNDREDS of plants, we started planting late morning. The first gutter on the beautiful Malvern Glasshouse was finished, and all our large specimens are in their final homes. The inside of the glasshouse is almost complete, once the staging was complete we filled with our beautiful indoor plants.
Kali was aiming high as everβ¦.water pistols to water the plants hanging in the trees.
Then our beautifully crafted gates arrived and we all felt so emotional seeing them installedβ¦.all of sudden our visions are becoming reality and we are all getting just a little bit giddy.
What a day! We couldnβt work with a better team, always so much joy and laughter and some serious serious graft πͺπΌπͺπΌπͺπΌπͺ΄β
